“Beauty is simply reality seen with the eyes of love”

A friend of mine had the quote “Beauty is simply reality seen with the eyes of love” by Rabindranath Tagore on their Facebook page. I always say that I don't really like Facebook, and wouldn't even be on it if it wasn't for my business (brides sometimes love to have wedding photos posted there within a day or so of the wedding) but every so often I get a neat little nugget of awesome like this quote and am very happy about it. I related to the quote and how those words translate into my photography. I feel that those words define exactly how I feel when I photograph.  I love people, especially people in love.  I love weddings.  I love the anticipation in the morning, the excitement of the first kiss, the celebrations, the emotional toasts and the dancing.  I love it all!

Pinterest has really transformed wedding photography by providing brides and grooms to be with inspiration for beautiful details and also lots of specific photo ideas. Those kinds of photos can be really fun-I don't mind the examples, and appreciate lists, but I really love to capture weddings in a documentary style more than anything else. There are so many beautiful moments on a wedding day that happen, I love having the freedom to capture those moments. Moments in time that happen in the blink of an eye sometimes. Those kinds of images are the best in my opinion. They are unplanned, real life, spontaneous, emotional moments that are truly priceless. True beauty shines outward like a light; it can be seen in a smile, a graceful movement, an embrace, and in wrinkles, tears, and even sweat. I love when brides do not try to hide emotions; they allow the inner beauty to come out. Those are the kinds of things I love to capture and document. Those are the kind of images that are most valuable in my opinion. These are a few of my favorite images that I feel exemplify what I am trying to say:

Way more fun than the posed shot that was taken before this family spontaneously did this

Michelle Huber Photography Destination Austin Texas engagement session!

This kind of scenario seems to be trending...the couple is getting married here in the Twin Cities, but live somewhere else. One of them is usually from the Twin Cities, the other is from the state where they currently live. They either know of me because I photographed a friend or family member's wedding, or they read about me somewhere. We email back and forth, then talk on the phone and or Skype.
Emily and Eddie were one of these couples, and let me tell you, I was absolutely THRILLED when I heard they live in TEXAS! Being it was was about 20 degrees average temps here, it seemed the obvious choice for me to fly down to see them in Texas for the engagement session! I had never been to Texas, except for connecting flights at the airport, so it was such an exciting trip for me.
One of my favorite things is to travel and see new places, combine that with my passion for photographing people...I was in heaven!! I had so much fun researching & planning the trip. I felt pretty cool when I found out that some of the places I suggested to Emily & Eddie were places they had never even heard of, but were excited to see. After going back & forth about all of the beautiful options for backdrops, we narrowed it down to about 4 locations. My husband Trent and I flew in a few days before the session and scouted out the locations to see what we thought. We're so glad we did, one of the locations that I was most excited about was a beautiful waterfall at Hamilton pool. With the massive drought they were experiencing, the waterfall had dried up! After experiencing the heavy weekend traffic, we made a plan of which places to visit in order to capture what the Emily & Eddie wanted for their photo session. I had so much fun, they even took me to lunch at a place that was highly recommended to me by a previous client who lived in Texas called "Torchy Tacos". I love authentic Mexican food, and this was the best Mexican food I have ever had in the US. Here is just a small sample of the images from our session:
Cactus!

They are so cute!

Of course we had to stop at the Austin Mural...

Emily is so pretty...and look at her perfectly shaped arms...reminds me I need to get to the gym!!!

This was my favorite spot to photograph...I just LOVE the trees here and all of the beautiful cactus plants!

Zilker Park overlooking the city...such a pretty spot!

We ended the session downtown.  Of course we had to do a big dip in front of the capitol!
